Compare the Etta Cuddle Chair and Etta Footstool to decide if you need both for a comfortable nursing setup. Learn what each adds and where to save.
Quick answer
If your budget allows, pair the Etta Cuddle Chair with the Etta Footstool for the most comfortable nursing setup. The chair gives you generous space for feeding and bonding, while the footstool adds leg support that reduces pressure during longer sits.
Why the footstool matters more than you think
Many parents focus on the chair and skip the footstool, but leg elevation can make a real difference during long feeding sessions. The Etta Footstool is designed to ease pressure on your hips and legs, which is especially helpful in those early weeks when you're sitting for hours at a time. Without it, you might find yourself propping your feet on a stack of books or a storage bin—functional, but not nearly as comfortable or stable.
The footstool also extends the life of your setup. As your baby grows, the stool becomes a handy step for little ones climbing into the chair for storytime. That's a small investment that keeps paying off.
Space and budget trade-offs
The Etta Cuddle Chair is designed with extra room to settle in, which is great for feeding and cuddling, but it also takes up more floor space than a standard nursery chair. If your nursery is compact, measure your room before committing. The footstool adds a separate footprint, so you'll need to account for that too.
Budget-wise, the chair is the bigger expense, but the footstool is priced affordably. If you're on a tight budget, the chair alone still gives you the spacious seat that makes feeding comfortable. You can always add the footstool later—it's a simple addition that completes the setup.
Chair, footstool, or both? Your decision guide
- Budget-first choice: If you can only buy one, choose the Etta Cuddle Chair. It gives you the spacious seat that makes feeding and bonding comfortable, and it works well on its own. You can add the footstool later when your budget allows.
- Maximum comfort choice: Pair the chair with the Etta Footstool for the full nursing setup. The footstool's leg elevation reduces pressure on your hips and legs, which is a big plus during long sits. Measure your nursery to ensure both pieces fit comfortably.
- Small-space choice: If floor space is limited, start with the chair alone. The footstool can be tucked under the chair when not in use, but it still adds a footprint. Consider a compact alternative if the chair feels too large for your room.
